The Hartford Wolf Pack have re-signed 24-year old defenseman David Urquhart to an AHL contract. The McGill University graduate started his pro career with the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL last season, but earned a call-up to Connecticut’s capital in early November and never looked back. The 6-0, 195-pound, Thorold, Ontario native played 58 games with the Pack this season, earning six goals and eight assists with a +13 rating while adding 36 penalty minutes.

It would seem that Hartford and the Rangers are stocking up on defensemen in anticipation of a few making the jump to the NHL level next year.
