Adam -

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You're the one who posted under the name "Adam" and then replied to yourself under the name "Rangers_in_2010" in the Grachev post.

Consider this your one warning. You are welcome to post your opinions here, whether I agree with them or not, but I won't tolerate you taking shots at me, or anyone else who posts here. I do have a life, and I don't have the time to babysit people who have nothing better to do than cause trouble. Thanks.

Laurie, do you have no life? It is not that important, just say yes or no to the question, what do you sit on this site all day waiting for people to post?

Hmm. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I actually pulled the regular season stats over the weekend, because when I originally saw the quote from Sather it was incomplete and didn't mention the playoffs and I didn't recall any particular player or team shutting Anisimov down consistently this season... until the playoffs when he was playing without Parenteau (against Worcester.)

Boyle played against Anisimov 5 times in the regular season. Anisimov had 5 assists in those games, while Boyle had a goal and an assist. The Pack played the Monarchs 3 times without Boyle in the line up; Anisimov had 2 goals and 1 assist in those games. So he was a point-per-game player against the Monarchs whether Boyle was in the line up or not.

Here's the breakdown game-by-game:

10/25 Manchester 1 @ Hartford 4
Anisimov: 1g 1a (primary) +2, 3rd star
Boyle: Did not play

11/29 Manchester 1 @ Hartford 2
Anisimov: 0g 0a even
Boyle: Did not play

1/31 Hartford 4 @ Manchester 3
Anisimov: 0g 2a (1 primary, 1 secondary) +3
Boyle: 0g 0a even
Boyle was on the ice for the goal on which Anisimov got the secondary assist, which came about because Anisimov intercepted a pass and fed Parenteau and Pyatt on a 2-on-1. Anisimov was on for another even strength goal (the primary assist) and a 4-on-4 goal for.

2/4 Manchester 6 @ Hartford 3
Anisimov: 0g 1a (secondary, PP) -1
Boyle: 0g 0a even
Boyle was on the ice for Anisimov's secondary, power play assist. He was also on the ice for a Manchester PP goal. Anisimov was on the ice for the power play goal, an even strength goal against (no Boyle), an even strength goal for (no Boyle) and a 4-on-4 goal against (no Boyle).

2/22 Hartford 3 @ Manchester 2
Anisimov: 0g 2a (1 primary PP, 1 primary ES) even
Boyle: 1g (PP) 0a -1
Boyle was not out for Anisimov's power play assist, but was on the ice for the even strength assist, and, of course, was on for his own PP goal (Anisimov was not). Anisimov was on the ice for a PP goal for, and even strength goal for, and an even strength goal against (no Boyle).

2/27 Manchester 1 @ Hartford 2 SO
Anisimov: 0g 0a even
Boyle: 0g 0a -1
Boyle on the ice for an even strength goal against (no Anisimov). Anisimov left the game towards the end of the 3rd with an injury after taking a hit from Drew Bagnall and was not on the ice for any goals for or against.

3/6 Hartford 0 @ Manchester 1 OT
Anisimov: 0g 0a even
Boyle: 0g 1a +1 (4 on 4)
Boyle was on the ice for a 4-on-4 goal for (no Anisimov). Anisimov was not on the ice for any goals for or against and according to the game wrap I wrote, missed a number of shifts throughout the game on which Moore or Rissmiller played in his place.

4/8 Hartford 4 @ Manchester 3
Anisimov: 1g (unassisted) 0a +1
Boyle: Did not play

Now, it could be argued that Boyle shut down Anisimov in the last two regular season games he faced him, but I would argue that Anisimov wasn't playing at 100% in the last one... Either way, I'm not seeing indisputable evidence of Boyle "shutting down" Anisimov with any sort of consistency. Anisimov finished the season at just over a point-per-game pace, which is exactly the pace he scored at against Manchester.

Hi Laurie, you are the talk of the Rangers Universe in the last couple of days near and far.
Do you know if Boyle played against Anisimov in a regular season last year?
