i don't look every day, but i do look often. it's tough for news hungry hockey fans during the summer! i spent all morning watching the youtube summaries of all of the brampton battalion's playoff games for a look at evgeny grachev... HIGHLY WORTH IT!

I didn't notice any open friction on the Pack, but there were certain players (Patrick Rissmiller in particular) who played like they were trying to end the season as quickly as possible once the Pack got into the playoffs. I can't overstate how disinterested he was and how little effort he put in. Anisimov was saddled with that dead weight in the last few games of the series, but I really have no idea what in particular he was referring to with that comment. I found it really interesting too, though.

As for his salary, I'd heard $62,500 as his AHL salary before. That's pretty standard for the AHL. Players only get paid during the regular season, so when you take out taxes and spread it over 7-8 months, his numbers aren't really out of whack.

Great job, Laurie.

Good to hear that Grachev and Anisimove are buddies. Also interesting how he explained why one of the reasons why Sharks prevailed by being a "unified" team. I didn't follow the Pack close enough but did you notice any concealed (or open) friction or agendas within roster?

I also wonder if Anisimov was a bit coy re. his salary or he's truly unaware what he's gross salary is. He seems smart so I'd say he figured (correctly) it would be better to understate it in Russian interview...

You're all very welcome, and thank you for the kind words. It's my pleasure, believe me.

I'm still not sold on Torts, and I'm wary of what Slats has in store for the summer, so I haven't even contemplated who'll slot where. I just want to see Anisimov in NY. (And not traded for a guy like Martin St. Louis or any other 30-something player on the downside of his career.)

And Amos, I was beginning to wonder if maybe you just searched Youtube daily to see what came up. ;) (Not that I'd be in any position to criticize, since there's a list of about 10 names/terms that I search for on five different Russian web sites every couple of days!)
