Grachev, Del Zotto Named OHL All-Stars
Thursday January 22nd 2009, 10:39 pm

New York Rangers prospects Evgeni Grachev and Michael Del Zotto have been selected to participate in the 2009 Subway OHL All-Star Classic, to be held in Windsor, Ontario next month. Grachev, who continues to lead all OHL rookies in goals (25) and points (47) after 36 games, will join current Brampton Battalion teammates Cody Hodgson and Matt Duchene on the Eastern Conference team, while Del Zotto will man the backline for the Western Conference All-Stars, joining his new London Knight teammates John Carlson, Nazem Kadri, Philip McRae and John Tavares. The All-Star game, which showcases the top 40 players in the Ontario Hockey League, takes place on Wednesday February 4, 2009 and is preceded by a skills competition the night before.

A season ago, current Wolf Pack defenseman and AHL All-Star Bobby Sanguinetti was named Player of the Game for the Eastern Conference.

Cody and Matt are also Evgeni’s linemates.

BTW seemed natural that all 4 All Stars + Potter are highest NY Rangers prospects.

I’m just glad the AHL did the right thing and added Anisimov to the game. ;)

As for the Brampton Boys, I’m pretty sure Evgeni plays on Brampton’s second line with Matt, while Cody centers Brampton’s first line.
