Cherepanov Named to Russian National Team

Ranger prospect Alexei Cherepanov has been included in a preliminary list of 47 players who will be invited to represent Team Russia in its various international competitions during the 2008-2009 season. He is joined on the list by Avangard Omsk teammates Anton Kuryanov and Alexander Svitov.

    great news. It looks like Cherepanov started another goal scoring streak today against Vityaz’. BTW he started a new blog here (remove spaces):

    Did something happen to Cherepanov today…according to he is in the hospital and it looks like they had to do CPR on him.

    Alexei, at the age of 19, passed away yesterday after a game in Russia. Rest in Peace Alexei, you will be missed by many.
