The Hartford Wolf Pack have added another defenseman to their roster, signing second-year pro Chris Murray to an AHL contract. A University of New Hampshire graduate, Murray started his first professional season on an ECHL contract with the Phoenix Roadrunners, the San Jose Sharks ECHL affiliate, after attending both the San Jose and Worcester Sharks training camps on a try-out. In his 45 games in the ECHL, he chipped in 1 goal, 13 assists and 122 penalty minutes, good for 3rd on his team. His strong play earned him shot at the AHL, where he debuted with the Lake Erie Monsters in January, playing one game (+1, 2 PIM) on a professional try-out contract. In February he earned his second shot at the AHL, playing two games for the Springfield Falcons (-2, no points or PMs). The third time proved a charm for Murray, and on February 29th he signed his third professional try-out contract with Albany, where he played the final 13 games of the season for the River Rats. The 6′2″, 190-pound native of Dover, MA tallied 1 goal, 3 assists and 15 penalty minutes for Albany.
