Saturday August 16th 2008, 1:00 pm

Prospective New York Ranger defenseman Vladimir Denisov, who’s been playing with Belarusian team Keramin Minsk as preparation for his upcoming season in North America, will look to help the 2008 Belarusian Extraliga champs win the Belarus Cup on Monday after the team qualified for the tournament final by defeating HK Vitebsk by the score of 4-2 yesterday. Denisov joined brothers Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn of the Montreal Canadians in leading Keramin to the final, playing on the team’s top defensive pairing and showing some offensive flare in putting up 5 points in 6 games prior to Friday’s match. His 3 goals and 2 assists tied him with Sergei Kostitsyn and Konstantin Nemirko of Vitebsk for tops in scoring in Group 1.

The winner of Monday’s Belarus Cup final will meet KHL team Dinamo Minsk in an exhibition game in Minsk on August 21st.
